Once Again Ang Lee Won the Golden Lion of Venice Festival

Short Film News (SFN)- Ang Lee, the Thai filmmaker who lives in the U.S won his second Golden Lion of Venice Film Festival last night.

The first time, he won this award for Brokeback Mountain and this year he got it for his new film Lust, Caution.

The jury of 64th Venice Film Festival gave the Silver Lion for the best short film to the English film Dog Altogether by Paddy Considine.

Special Mentioned award was given to Stone People by Leonid Rybakov and Prix UIP was dedicated to Alumbramiento from Spain.

In the feature section, Brian De Palma, the American filmmaker, won the Silver Lion for Best Director for his film Redacted.

Special Jury Prize went to La Graine et le Mulet (Abdellatif Kechiche) and I'm Not There (Todd Haynes).

Brad Pitt was announced as the best actor for starring in The Assassination of Jesse James and Cate Blanchette was chosen as the best actress in I'm Not There.

Paul Laverty won the prize for the Best Screenplay for It's a Free World.

The Orizzonti Prize went to Autumn Ball from Estonia and the Orizzonti Doc Prize was dedicated to Useless by Jia Zhangke from China.
