Short Film News (SFN)- The winners of the second edition of Kabul Documentary and Short Film Festival were announced , June 21 in the closing ceremony of this festival in Esteghlal Lise Hall in Kabul. The jury members of Afghanistan Competition including Lien Heidenreich (The manager of Goethe Institution in Kabul), Marjan Riahi (The manager of Short Film News), Eng. Latif Ahmadi (The manager of Afghan Film), Gabrial Buti (The representative of France Cultural Centre), Maheen Zia (The manager of Karachi Festival), and Alaeddin Abdollahof (A member of Tajik Filmmakers Community), gave the first prize to Passageway by Abdol Hossein Danesh, as the best documentary in this section.
The second prize went to the animation Refugee by Seyyed Mohsen Hosseini and the third prize was given to the documentary The New Moon through the Window by Qader Aryai.  
Also We are Postmodernists! by Elka Sadat won a prize for the best cinematography, Black Kabul by Ahmad Elmi is the winner for the best sound, Gol-Chehreh by Abdol Rashid Azimi the winner of the best actress, My Kabul by Vahid Nazir the winner of the best editing.
The jury members in International Competition, Lien Heidenreich (The manager of Goethe Institution in Kabul), Marjan Riahi (The manager of Short Film News), Eng. Latif Ahmadi (The manager of Afghan Film), Gabrial Buti (The representative of France Cultural Centre) gave the grand prize of International competition to the documentary New Penelope by Georgi Dzalaev from Uzbekistan.

Noise by Babak Tabrizi Minaghi won the second prize and The Women of Lahore by Maheen Zia won the third prize of this festival.

The second edition of Kabul Documentary and Short Film Festival was held in Kabul from 16 - 21June 2007 by the cooperation of some Afghani organizations, German Goethe Institution, French Cultural Centre and its motto is Discovering New Talents.
