Krakow Film Festival Takes Place with No Iranian Films

Short Film News - The disappointing absence of the Iranian shorts and documentaries in international film festivals is repeated once again in Krakow Film Festival, Poland.

 

Krakow Film Festival, a significant event in the field of short films, holds its 46th edition from May 30 to June 4, 2006.

 

In its international and national sections, 46th Krakow festival hosts 40 foreign and 50 Polish shorts respectively.

 

This years international competition jury comprises of 5 filmmakers from Poland, Finland, Britain, France, and the Czech Republic, among which the prominent Finnish documentary filmmaker, Pirjo Honkasalo, stands out.

 

Last year, Behind the Burka by Mehrdad Oskooyi won Krakows Golden Dragon, and Iranian Canned Food by Mohammad Shirvani received the jurys special award.
