Short Film News (SFN) - Sundance Institute announced the expansion of Sundance Institute Art House Project which includes a series of short films from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, a film tour of an acclaimed documentary, and a convergence of art house theatres from across the US to be held January.
The project is a partnership with art house cinemas nationwide to build audiences and develop a supportive community of theatre owners committed to independent film.
A specially selected series of short films from Sundance Film Festival is being presented exclusively at each of the Art House Project theaters.
The shorts program includes: MAN by Myna Joseph, FCU: Fact Checkers Unit by Dan Beers, Sikumi by Andrew Okpeaha MacLean, I Love Sarah Jane by Spencer Susser, W. by The Vikings, Spider by Nash Edgerton, Your Truly by Osbert Parker, Dennis by Mads Matthiesen, and my Olympic Summer (directed by Daniel Robin).
Also, Margaret Brown's acclaimed documentary The Order of Myths is going to travel to six Art House Project theatres.
The Art House Convergence is presented in cooperation with the Sundance Institute January 13-15, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the Convergence, Art House theatres from all over the U.S. will gather just before the Sundance Film Festival (January 15-25) providing a opportunity for art house theatres to network and discuss successful marketing, programming and business models as well as current issues facing independent theatres.
