Short Film News (SFN)- Angles Die in the Soil, a short film by Babak Amini from Iran, won the best Non-European Award of Grand Off European Off film Awards.
The awards ceremony of the 2nd edition of this event took place Saturday night in Warsaw and the winners of ten categories in this competition were announced.
This year Non-European Award was added to other categories in which Amini’s film, among 5 other films were chosen as the best.

Dead Cell by Lou Ma Ho from France
Best Scriptwriting
Abbe Robinson for Private Life from United Kingdom
Best Cinematography
Dreams and Awakening by David Baudry from France
Best Editing
It Wasn’t God’s Will by Antonio Ferreira from Portugal
Best Documentary
The Last card by Sylain Biegeleisen
Best Actress
Mai Ann Lee for Dead Cell from France
Best Actor
Neil Maskell for True Colors from United Kingdom
Best Animation
City South by Malte Jehmlich, Nicolai Skopalik, and Nils Voges from Germany
Grand Off European Off Film Awards was established in November 2006 in Warsaw and its first edition took place in 2007.
18 countries have participated in establishing this event together with the partners who are all strongly related to the independent film industry and they are also members of the jury of Grand Off.
Marjan Riahi, the Manager of SFN participated in this event as a jury member and the sole Asian member in Grand Off Academy.
