Short Film News (SFN)- The 4th DVD edition of short films by the greatest directors of the world are published by Cinema 16.
The 3 previous editions consisted of British, European, and American short films and in this new edition 16 films by the greatest filmmakers of the world are gathered.
In this DVD some films by Guillermo Del Toro and Alfonso Cuaron, the famous Mexican filmmakers, Australian Oscar Award winner Jane Campion, Alexander Sokurov, the well-known Russian filmmaker, Ousman Sembene from Africa, and Guy Maddin from Canada are available.
Luke Morris, who is in responsible for gathering the films of Cinema16 series, believes that short film in cinema should reach to the same position as short story in literature.
He says that short film is where the most interesting form of filmmaking happens, because there is not financial pressure as in features. Anyhow, he informs us that World Short Films DVD is the last edition of this series because the online show of short films in different websites such as YouTube makes the gathering and providing these works difficult.
Dona Lupe, Guillermo Del Toro's primary films, and Quartet for the End of the Time, a film made by Cuaron when he was 19 are the short films by these directors in this DVD.
Wasp by Andrea Arnold which won Oscar Award for the best short film is the other work in this DVD.
Also Madam Tutli-Putli, a production of 2007 which won the Best Animation Award in the most important festivals and events of the year, is in this DVD as well.
