Iranian Cinema Not Present in Cannes Critics' Week

Iranian cinema is not present in the list of films selected for the critics' week in this year's Cannes Film Festival.

 

According to Short Films News Site, as in previous editions of Cannes festival, 7 features and 7 shorts will be screened in the competition section of the Critics' Week; and 7 features and 3 shorts have been selected for the section of special screenings. In the 45th edition of the Critics' Week, the main focus will be on the European and Latin American Cinemas.

 

The Critics' Week will be opened by the French feature Satan's Friendship by Emanuele Bourdie that will compete with feature films from Germany, Norway, Brazil, Belgium, Mexico, and Hungary.  

 

The competition section of short films also hosts films from Germany, Japan, India, Brazil, France, and Italy.

 

The main focus in the Critics' Week is usually on the directors first and second films. Along with the Directors' Fortnight, Critics Week is another important section in Cannes Film Festival.
